Even though locals do not exclusively live from
agriculture anymore,
Ora has been able to preserve its rural character:
historic castles and
farms in a Mediterranean style, narrow lanes lined by natural stone walls, trees and flowers wherever you look. Ora is located in the fertile
Adige Valley at 250 metres above sea level. Shops, cafés and comfortable inns provide an unforgettable atmosphere.
More than a dozen different types of
apples are cultivated in the
orchards surrounding Ora. Hundreds of
fruit farmers work with love for their homeland in order to preserve the
high quality of
South Tyrolean apples, for which they are known all over the world. In summer, they work on the fields to pick the apples and harvest the rewards for their labours.
